A Happy Protest

Here is a short clip about a one-man protest in Chinatown.

Also, I'm speaking at the Downtown San Francisco Apple Store today at 5pm. You should come check us out if you are around.

Hey, Let's Go To The Art Show!

Watch the video

Went to the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts the other day hoping to bust out a Bre Pettis-like interview with my friend who had a piece there. As you can see from here, I didn't get in-- but I did talk to someone! I just don't think I make that good of an arts interviewer...especially if I'm only talking to Joe Blow.

Or maybe that's who I "should" be talking to.

Playing With Mefeedia

I'm finally getting around to playing with Peter's Mefeedia Video Quoting Tool. Basically, it allows you to choose a specific point of somebody elses video to highlight on your site. Easy fun tool: what more could you ask for. I could have either just linked to the quote, or used the auto-magically generated code that does this:
thumbnail preview of movie
Watch this Quicktime movie quote. Original movie from travelVlog. (Quote by mefeedia.)

I wonder if the quoted piece ends up in my ANT feed? I hope it does. (UPDATE: It does!!) It would open up a beautiful way to get eyes to look at something I found; just quoting a snippit and directing you to the original site. If you can dig it, that goes beyond your standard Link Love-- it's more like Link Sex.

Let's Meet Some Teenage Anti-Abortionists!

I love this stuff. I'm a sucker for people who are so passionate about something that they will push it at you on the street. Then I videotape it, where I get all passionate about sharing it, and push it at you on the site.

From Them, to Me, to You.

Michael Verdi on Fame and Videoblogging

Watch the video originally shared on blip.tv

What can I say, some of us in the Videoblogosphere can get a little passionate. With that, I give you Mr. Passion himself: Michael Verdi. Taken from the weekly Videoblogging Flash Conference by Ro.

Jonny Decorates A Cake

I met Jonny Goldstein at the Vlog Soho Thing where he threw Twinkies at the audience-- obviously, he's good people. Here he is at what I hope to be the last Vloggercue video I put up.

At least until the next one.

Rashomon Vloggercue

(If the Internet Archive was working, this is where there would be a picture of the video. BUT CLICK HERE for the video nonetheless.)

I met Mariah of Missing KittenTV at the Vloggercue last week (she's good people-- who knew?!?!? Ok, I could have guessed.). She posted an interaction we had, and I happened to be recording as well. In the Eighties they would have called it "synergy". Or maybe that was the early Nineties.

Have I mentioned what an empowering group of people were there?

An Aside: So I don't really like the term "videoblog" even though it makes since. It's a clunky word. But look at this post: a little video back at a newly met friend on the other side of the country; and there are links. And an RSS feed. So that's a videoblog.

Look Ma, no hands!

It's your daddy's paradigm. It's not my bag. Give me a new word.

So, I think I have one more Vloggercon post in me... maybe two. But really, if you look back in your notes you keep about all of my videos...y'know what I'm talking about..this is the first one that was actually at Vloggercue for the whole vid. Anyway, if I type "Vloggercon" one more time, I'm drinking the tainted Kool-Aid.

Sloutching Towards Vloggercue

A quick video post while I wait around JFK airport-- believe me when I say this: I hope the video is more entertaining than my wait in the terminal. (and the Internet Archive is a little slow right now, so hopefully you can view it.)

A Talk In Soho About Videoblogging

I'm still in NYC playing around with the other videobloggers for Vloggercue, but here is a little video about our talk at the Apple store in Soho. We had a great time, and the weekend is just starting. More to come, so don't you worry your pretty little head. I saw too many great new vlogging tools as well as finally meeting many of my favorite content producers face-to-face. (Many are listed in the sidebar, so you may as well see if they posted about the event as well. The only one I've seen so far is from the very talented Chris Weagel)

The Post With No Point

People keep thinking some big statement is going to fall onto our videoblogging laps. I'm not sure about that, but I'm pretty sure this is the post that goes with the video that has no point. Is that so wrong?

Hey, Let's Buy A Cordless Phone!

First of all, I will be in New York City doing a little show and tell at the Apple Store in SoHo-- you can learn about it here. Come say Howdy!

Secondly, Here's a little video about buying a cordless phone at Best Buy with my Mom-- riveting stuff! Ok, maybe not riveting, but she entertains me. What Mom isn't entertaining? I mean, this is about as "Fourth of July" as you can get without the fireworks.

I also made a new closing credit piece on Corel Painter (my new favorite program). Though I like the minimal closer that I typically use, I thought I should just change it cause I can. Whatever. Just babbling on the blog. B for blah blah blog. Thats why I have a Vlog. V for Va Va Video. Which is what you should have watched by now since that is what this site is offering.

Do I need to remind you that you can use the RSS feed here or one of the sidebar button thingies? If you don't use them, you probably should start. All the cool kids are doing it.
